Piwik Review
Piwik is a popular, free and open source alternative to many of the other free site tracking options available. Offering real-time reporting, custom dashboards and plenty of bells and whistles in addition to having a crowd-funded open source community constantly adding features, Piwik is loved by many site owners for the overall package of analytics, insights and reporting.
Piwik has been downloaded over 1.2 million times and includes ecommerce reporting, goal tracking, campaign tracking, custom variables and email reports. Piwik also natively supports over 45 languages for and is a great international site analytics offering. The support forum and community around Piwik also makes it a real winner because you are never alone in your quest for discovering, integrating and maximizing your Piwik experience.
The only trick with Piwik is it’s a little different set up than the other more traditional web-based analytics providers, requiring a download of Piwik and install with your hosting provider. With that said, many happy customers love what Piwik currently offers and their roadmap. Probably better for someone with at least a little web experience but we still happily recommend Piwik as a great, reliable and free site tracking option.
eXTReMe Tracking is one of those, how’d they do that, site tracking solutions. What do I mean? Simply put, eXTReMe Tracking is a long list of information and you can scroll down to what you are interested in. By skipping the usability detail, eXTReMe Tracking is able to make sure all the data is available and trust that users will figure it out.
OneStat Basic is in version 4.34 now and every update makes it better. At the free level you do see a lot of advertising for their other products but the professional display and interface make it just like checking your free email. My favorite thing about OneStat is the ease of set up and the ease of creating email reports weekly or monthly with whatever analytical overview you want.
